hi

this is a really scrappy prototype of a piece I've been developing for a while that I decided to adapt into a visual novel format. this is the story in it's entirety, please let me know your thoughts. it may be worth playing through multiple times to see different facets of the narrative.

all visuals, transitions, and sounds are still in development.

I will say that this doesn't feel unfinished, and although I can imagine more detailed visuals and transitions, I also think the minimalism feels like an intentional decision. Many moments stood out to me, but particularly everything related to the hospital, such as descriptions of the nurses and equipment. The only issues I encountered were a few spelling mistakes and cases of the text getting cut off at the bottom of the screen (although it became visible when clicking to scroll) I got ending 1: a falsehood.

The atmosphere in this is genuinely so incredible. It feels dreamlike in a strangely grounded way. I love that we don't even get to see what our friend's name is, also the dynamic between him and Luis is amazing, there's a level of care because they are friends, but his pride being so in the way of admitting to need help even in the state he's in is great. The backgrounds I think are actual pictures blown out to lose detail which add to the grimynes of everything. I did end up hitting an error, but it felt like it would be right before an ending. I really hope you finish it because I'm invested.

I really enjoy that your narrative is fragmented. I haven't played through the other choices yet, but I find myself wondering as to what happened to the other character. Although he is very prickly, I like to be nice to him. I'm not sure why I'm driven to be nice to him, but it's likely because the two seem to have a history where their relationship was not as strained. It was also scary (but a little humorous at first) to see him change during each visit. I like that you directly addressed the fact that he is red (drenched in blood) because I initially thought it was unintentional. You really have a way with words as you grotesquely describe his body. I found myself nauseated as I put myself in his place.

I was so fascinated by this game! The ambience is impeccable, and the slow buildup of the mystery was very cool. The world felt so surreal and dreamlike. I did encounter an error at the point where the hospital had to close because of severe weather, but I stay. It was shortly after the choice of staying due to a sense of care, obligation, or spite. I tried to go back and change some answers, but unfortunately I couldn't find a way to get around the error page. Despite that, I greatly enjoyed the part of the game that I was able to play!

Just fixed it! It was an ending, so you didn't miss on too much...?

I know I gas up everything you make this is the best thing I've seen from you so far I am spinning in little circles over here. I love your characters and how much we can tell about their dynamic without having a majority of the context explained to us. They are so compelling on their own and even more compelling in their dynamic, you create such freaks every time and I am delighted every time. As always I love your crunchy textured photo-bashed style and I think it works well here. The beep becomes unbearable after a while but I think that's the point of it. Very excited to see more if you continue with this o7

I love this VN, the story is intriguing and the art compliments it really well. I love the loose linework throughout. The sound creates an amazing ambiance. I was absolutely devastated encountering this error -Arian

Hi! I can't see the error you've attached. Can you let me know at what point you encountered it? Thanks.
